The Nebraska Bankers Association honored several banks for their their work to improve the financial education of Nebraskans at 2022 NBA Annual Convention Recognition Awards Breakfast May 6, at Embassy Suites in La Vista. The Leaders in Financial Education (LiFE) Awards recognize banks that are financial education leaders in their communities. Whether it’s making school presentations, operating an in-school savings bank or helping to combat elder financial abuse, banks are leading the way to assist Nebraskans in improving their financial decision-making. The following financial institutions were awarded for their outstanding contributions to financial education in Nebraska. LiFE Honors List Banks that meet at least seven of a list of criteria including hosting interns, operating an in-school savings bank, giving financial literacy presentations and many others, are named to the LiFE Honors List.
Presentation Award One bank from each of the three deposit size category is eligible for this award. The categories are: Small, $100 million or less; Medium, $101 to 350 million; and Large, $351 million or more. The banks that receive this award have made the largest number of Get Smart About Credit, Teach Children to Save and other financial literacy presentations.
Bank Innovation Award This award is presented to a bank who implemented an innovative way to improve financial literacy.
