Consider Sponsoring an In-school Savings Bank

Is your bank is looking for a way to improve the financial literacy of the young people in your community? Then you should join the 19 NBA member-banks that sponsor an in-school savings bank. Assistance is available from the Nebraska Council on Economic Education (NCEE) to establish the program.
 
Bank Responsibilities:

• Maintain non-custodial, non-interest-bearing account with the school
• Designate project coordinator, including accepting weekly deposits at the school
• Provide incentives for students reaching various savings levels
• Provide a match up to the first $5 deposit by new savings members
• Host an opening ceremony and other milestone celebrations
• Assist in student teller training
• Maintain individual student account balances in a database
• Audit individual accounts bi-annually
• Provide financial support for NCEE
