What influenced your decision to do a banking internship?
I've always been interested in banking, and it's a great way to get your foot in the door. FNB of Gordon is unique in the way you get to see every aspect of the banking world. What has been the most beneficial part of your internship? The most beneficial parts of this internship are the connections I've made and the amount of experience I've gained through this. This internship has also helped me to focus on the career I want to pursue. What areas of banking did you focus on in your internship? Is this something you want to continue doing in the future? I mainly focused on helping with loans and the loan department during my internship; this is something I want to pursue in the future, and I’m hoping to one day become a loan officer. The experience I gained here was very valuable, and I learned from some of the best! How has this internship grown your interest in the banking career path? This internship has grown my interest in banking by experiencing firsthand day-to-day operations in banking. This internship has been so valuable, and I've gained more knowledge and experience than I could have imagined. What is the most important thing you have learned through your internship? The most important thing I have learned is the importance of experience and how beneficial it is to be a "jack-of-all-trades." Do you think this internship will help you in your future? If so, how? I do think this internship will benefit me greatly in the future from all of the knowledge and connections I’ve gained. What would you say to someone who is considering a banking internship? The advice I would give to someone considering an internship would be to keep an open mind, be flexible and ready to do any task thrown at you. The experience you gain is priceless, and it's an awesome opportunity. Anything else you would like to add?
