Bankers in the News

Kade Folchert, NebraskaLand Bank | North Platte, marked his fifth anniversary with the bank. He is a credit analyst officer.

Angie Kreutzer, First National Bank of Omaha | Kearney, was recently named to the United Way of the Kearney Area's board of directors. She is a mortgage loan officer at the bank.

Joe Libal, Flatwater Bank | Gothenburg, received the Honorary Pony Express Rider award from the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce and Gothenburg Improvement Company's annual awards event on May 24. This award goes to an individual or group who unselfishly gives their time for the betterment of the community. (pictured)

Meredith Lindblad, Lincoln Federal Savings Bank | Lincoln, recently celebrated her 25th anniversary with the bank. She is an assistant vice president/customer service supervisor.

Matt Williams, Flatwater Bank | Gothenburg, recently celebrated his 50th anniversary of service with the bank. He is a former state senator for District 36, as well as past chair of the NBA and American Bankers Association (ABA). Matt is currently the chairman of the bank.

Elkhorn Valley Bank | Norfolk, hosted a blood drive at their headquarters on June 2.

First State Bank & Trust Co. | Fremont, has rebranded to RVR Bank, effective June 1. The new name signifies the bank's updated pillars: Relationships, Values and Results. The change also applies to Two Rivers Bank in Blair and Arlington. (pictured)

Flatwater Bank | Gothenburg, received the Guiding Light (Business of the Year) award from the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce and Gothenburg Improvement Company during the awards event on May 24. (pictured)

Henderson State Bank | Henderson, is sponsoring a local student who was chosen for the American Legion Cornhusker Boys State program from June 4-10. Boys (and Girls) State is designed to provide Nebraska youth with a better understanding of how city, county and state government works.

Jones Bank | Valparaiso, sponsored a watermelon feed during "Val Days," the community festival for Valparaiso, that was held this past weekend. This year was the 20th anniversary of the event.

State Nebraska Bank & Trust | Wayne, recently awarded scholarships totaling over $15,000 to five area high school graduates. Three students received the SNB Community Scholarship, which covers full tuition for their freshman year at Wayne State College. The other two students each received a $1,000 SNB FFA Scholarship.

WCB | Blair, opened a new branch in Missouri Valley, Iowa, on May 22, with a grand opening ceremony scheduled for June 12. This brings WCB's locations to four, including Blair, Fort Calhoun and Tekamah. (pictured)

Retirements

Mary Clifton, York State Bank | York, retired on May 31 after 23 years with the bank. She was a personal banker at the plaza bank location and, more recently, at the main branch in York. (pictured)

John Kingsbury, Bank of Dixon County | Ponca, recently retired from the bank but will remain as chairman of the bank's board of directors. He most recently was a bank officer and president.

Deaths

Virginia Cattle (age 102) | Seward, passed away on June 3. She was the widow of NBA Past Chair John Cattle, Sr. (1971). (pictured)

Terry Connick (age 69) | Doniphan, passed away on May 31. He had previously worked at the National Bank of Commerce (now Wells Fargo), the Bank of Clarks, and the State Bank of Litchfield (now Town & Country Bank).
