Jessop Adams, Adams Bank & Trust | Ogallala, received the Business Professional of the Year award from the Keith County Chamber of Commerce. He is an executive vice president of commercial banking.

Don Blaha, First National Bank in Ord | Ord, celebrated his 60th anniversary of service with the bank on Feb. 1. He remains active as the director and chairman of the bank.

Chris Hove, fnbo | Lincoln, received the Mission Service Award from Berry Law. He is a 20-year Navy veteran who served as a pilot on the USS Constellation with more than 200 carrier landings. He also served at U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base and earned many decorations. Hove served as NBA Chair in 2020.

Chandra Jaixen, Heartland Bank | Riverdale, celebrated her 30th anniversary with the bank. She is a senior loan operations associate.

Derek Kay, fnbo | Lincoln, was named to the Lincoln Young Professionals Group (YPG) 2024 Leadership Council as the secretary. He is a senior advisor, commercial banking. YPG is dedicated to empowering young professionals with educational, leadership and networking opportunities. (pictured)

Banks in the News

Heartland Bank | Geneva, has purchased the State Bank of Odell, effective Feb. 2. Both branches in Diller and Odell are now full-service branches of Heartland Bank.

Nebraska State Bank & Trust Co. | Broken Bow, opened an in-school savings bank at Callaway Public Schools.

Security Bank | Coleridge, Laurel and Osmond, donated $22,500 each to the Coleridge Rescue Squad, Laurel Fire & Rescue, and Osmond Ambulance to help fund the purchase of new ambulances for each group. (pictured)

State Nebraska Bank & Trust | Wayne, donated a total of $5,452 to the Wayne Community Chest. Half of the funds were raised by bank staff; the other half was provided through a match fund from the bank.
