NBA Associate General Counsel Jerry Stilmock explains how government relations and regulation affect banking to Summer Experience participants.

The Bank On Your Future Summer Experience is a program designed for any student working at a Nebraska bank in a part-time role or internship.

Summer Experience will help students connect, share their work experiences and engage in professional development opportunities.

Students will also learn about how legislation and regulation affect the Nebraska banking industry, understand the impact banks have on their communities and explore the variety of career paths banking has to offer.

9:15 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. - Networking and Ice Breakers
9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. - NBA Overview
- Students will be introduced to the NBA, why it was established and how it supports the Nebraska banking industry and potential opportunities to get more involved with the NBA as a student member.
10:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. - Break/Banking Regulation Game
10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. - Government Relations and Banking Regulations Overview
11:00 a.m.-11:50 a.m. - Panel Conversation with Bankers and Round Table Discussions
- This session will be broken into two parts. During the first part, Students will hear from a panel of bankers featuring a bank leader, an HR employee and a younger banker from three different banks so students can have a variety of perspectives and gain career tips.
- During the second part, students will rotate and engage in round table discussions with each panelist. This will allow for more focused discussions and questions between the students and the bankers.
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. - Wrap-up and Networking Lunch with Bankers at Lochland Country Club (601 W. Lochland Rd. Hastings, NE 68901)
