LiFE Awards Application

The Leaders in Financial Education (LiFE) program honors Nebraska banks and bankers who lead efforts in their communities to promote financial education. 

The 2026 awards application cover financial education programs initiated or ongoing by banks during the 2025 calendar year. ​The deadline to submit your information is Feb. 28, 2026.

    LiFE Honors List

    Please fill out the required information below as the main point of contact at your bank for the LiFE Awards program.
    Banks that meet at least seven of the criteria below will be named to the Leaders in Financial Education Honors List.

    Bank Innovation Award

    This award is presented to a bank that implemented an innovative way to improve financial literacy.

    Get Smart About Credit, Teach Children to Save ​and General Presentations

    One bank from each deposit size category is eligible for this award, for a total of three banks honored. This will be based on the number of Get Smart About Credit, Teach Children to Save and other financial literacy presentations given by a bank.
    Deposit Size Categories:
    • $100 million or less
    • $101 to 350 million
    • $351 million or more

    Career Award

    This award is presented to a banker who has been a valuable asset in leading the bank's financial literacy efforts for at least five years. A bank president, CEO or a banker in a management position must be the one to nominate a banker for the Career Award. This award may not be given every year. Individuals may win this award only once.
