Travis Sears, vice president of bank operations with Union Bank & Trust in Lincoln, was selected as the chair-elect of the Nebraska Bankers Association during the association’s annual convention in La Vista. He will assume the position of NBA Chair in May 2026.

Sears began his banking career at National Bank of Commerce and has spent over 30 years in the industry. In his current role, he oversees the bank’s deposit services, electronic banking, facilities, image services and physical security. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from Concordia University and is a graduate of the KBA/NBA Advanced Schools of Banking.

Throughout his career, Sears has been actively involved in advancing the banking industry in Nebraska. He has served the NBA as a member of the Board of Directors, BankPAC Committee and Education Advisory Committee. Sears has also been a member of the EPCOR Payments User Council, the NetWorks User Council and the Accel Payments User Council.

In addition to his contributions to the banking industry, Sears served on the Crete City Council, the Crete Volunteer Fire Department and the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Safety Council.

Reflecting on his appointment, Sears said:
“Serving on the NBA Board has shown me just how collaborative and resilient Nebraska’s banking community really is. As we face challenges like growing regulatory demands and increasing fraud, it’s clear that we’re stronger when we tackle them together. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to working with my fellow bankers to find solutions and move our industry forward.”
