On March 21, NBA BankPAC Committee Chair Tony Kaufman with Platte Valley Bank (Scottsbluff) kicked off the 2025 NBA BankPAC Campaign. The Committee agenda included setting solicitation goals for NBA state and federal BankPACs for 2025, discussion the ABA Fair Share goal, providing an update on the NBA's legislative agenda before the Unicameral and reviewing federal legislation currently in Congress.

The NBA BankPAC Committee established a goal to raise $200,000 ($150,000 state PAC goal, $50,000 federal PAC goal) for this year’s campaign, urging every NBA member to support BankPAC by involving their staff in the political process through internal PAC campaigns. NBA BankPAC represents the collective political strength of the many bank officers, directors and employees in this state who contribute each year.

Let’s ensure that our industry is not fundamentally changed by ill-conceived legislation – legislation that we can help shape through the relationships with legislators that a well-funded BankPAC fosters.

Lawmakers influence many aspects of our industry, including the services we offer, how we market them, the prices we charge, who can compete with us and the level of regulatory oversight we face. Fortunately, we can participate in the decision-making process. Through our relationships with policymakers, regulators and lawmakers, we can provide input into the laws and regulations that govern our industry and affect our customers.
