Course Description:  Leveraging the Benefits of a Diverse Workforce provides an explanation as to why valuing diversity makes good business sense.  The course includes real-life scenarios to illustrate how to manage diversity issues by explaining the skills needed.  It provides strategies for successful managers to recruit diverse work teams, encourage diversity of thought, and welcome differing opinions. The course defines stereotypes and describes potential solutions to discourage stereotyping and encourage diversity.  The course includes exercise scenarios to apply the five-step process for handling conflict resolutions.
Audience:  For managers, supervisors, and all employees in leadership positions.
Learning Objectives:  After completing this course, students will be able to:
  • Recognize the business case for diversity
  • Define the management practices that support diversity in the workplace
  • Explain the difference between diversity vs. stereotypes
  • Apply the five-step process for handling diversity conflict resolution
