First Northeast Bank of Nebraska | Oakland, and other local businesses helped sponsor the local chili cookoff this past weekend.
 
Horizon Bank | McCook, donated $3,000 toward the local Memorial Park Cemetery “Avenue of Flags” project, which aims to install 120 black telescoping flagpoles and replace/reclaim a portion of the existing cemetery fence.
 
FNBO | Omaha, and other local businesses participated in a bed-building event on Sept. 18 to benefit Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s goal of building and delivering beds to Omaha-area children who don’t have one. Volunteers built 210 beds during the event.
 
State Bank of Table Rock | all branches, donated a total of $11,000 to several area fire departments and EMS services in honor of the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.

Retirements

Ron Gentrup, State Nebraska Bank & Trust | Wayne, is retiring at the end of Sept. after 40 years with the bank. He joined the bank in 1986 and ends his career as the president and chief lending officer.
 
Patti Wroblewski, Homestead Bank | St. Paul, retired on Sept. 30 after over nine years with the bank.
