Banner Capital Bank, Community Bank and First State Bank of Loomis | Alma, and other local businesses sponsored the grand opening, open house and cornhole tournament for Orleans Fire & Rescue’s new fire hall on Nov. 9.

First State Bank Nebraska | Omaha, opened a new full-service branch in Aksarben Village at 6457 Frances, Suite 180 in Omaha.

Lincoln Federal Savings Bank | Lincoln, sponsored the Nebraska Sports Council’s awards banquet on Nov. 5 in Lincoln.

Nebraska Bank | Hemingford, partnered with local business Legacy Co-Op to donate a gun for an auction fundraiser for the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department.

Platte Valley Bank | Scottsbluff, and other local businesses sponsored the Scottsbluff/ Gering Chamber of Commerce’s Careers in Ag Day on Nov. 13. The event introduced 11 different career pathways, including ag lending, to students.

Potter State Bank | Potter, and other local businesses helped sponsor a job fair on Nov. 20 in Sidney. The event gave priority to veterans and included a luncheon for veterans interested in learning about resources for entrepreneurs.

State Bank of Table Rock | Pawnee City, partnered with Community Insurance Group to donate $10,000 to Sweet Second Home Child Care Center in Pawnee City.

Retirements

Crystal Allen and Doug Weiss, West Plains Bank | Ainsworth, will be retiring at the end of the year. Crystal is a cashier and has worked at the bank for 44 years. Doug is the bank president and CEO and has been with the bank for 39 years. The bank will hold an open house on Dec. 6 to celebrate.

Deaths

Tony Martin (age 60) | Rising City, passed away on Nov. 17. He had previously worked at Nebraska Bank of Commerce and Union Bank & Trust Co. in Lincoln before joining Pinnacle Bank. His banking career spanned over 30 years.

Carol Scott (age 83) | Beatrice, passed away on Nov. 15. She had worked as a loan officer at Security First Bank in Beatrice and retired in 2004.
