First State Bank Nebraska | Lincoln, collaborated with Linked2Literacy to assemble 1,000 backpacks full of books and deliver them to local foster care organizations as part of the EMpowerME initiative. The project provides essential support to children in the foster care system.

Deaths

Jane Brewster (age 86) | Butte, passed away on July 22. She and her husband, Dennis, were owners of Butte State Bank. She also worked at the bank for many years.

Wesley Keebler (age 76) | Hastings, passed away on July 28. He had previously worked at City National Bank, now Heritage Bank, in Hastings.

Mary Sundermeier (age 60) | Greenwood, passed away on July 18. She previously worked at Farmers & Merchants Bank in Ashland. (pictured)
