Banks in the News

Associated Bank and State Bank of Table Rock | Humboldt, and other local businesses helped sponsor the Glow Run/Walk on Aug. 8. The event was a fundraiser for the local Community for the Pool Committee.
 
Bank of America, N.A. | Omaha, and other local businesses helped sponsor the Rising CEOs Summer Sprint Program, which equips young women with practical entrepreneurial training through business development workshops, mentorship, pitch coaching and hands-on learning experiences.
 
Elkhorn Valley Bank & Trust | Norfolk, donated $25,000 to the Norfolk Fire Department for the renovation of their station, including new sleeping quarters.
 
Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. | Omaha, awarded a $1 million grant, through the bank’s foundation, to Metropolitan Community College in Omaha to expand access to construction education, increase student scholarships and strengthen affordable housing partnerships with the college. In addition, the Wells Fargo Foundation donated $250,000 to HomeWoven, a nonprofit focused on housing stability.

Elkhorn Valley Bank & Trust staff received a certificate of recognition from the Norfolk Fire Department in thanks for the bank’s donation.

Deaths

Richard “Dick” Stull (age 84) | Bridgeport, passed away on Aug. 14. His career in banking spanned 60 years and included numerous positions at Guardian State Bank, Bank of Valentine, Bridgeport State Bank (later becoming Abbott Bank), Western Bank, Western Nebraska National Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Banner County Bank and Farmers State Bank (now Nebraska Bank). He also served on the NBA Lending Advisory Committee and served as committee chair for one year.
