Cornerstone Bank | all branches, will award over $75,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools across Nebraska this year.

First State Bank | Gothenburg, will rebrand to Dayspring Bank, effective June 5. The transition to the new name is expected to wrap up by the third quarter of 2023. (pictured)

NebraskaLand Bank | North Platte, hosted a Community Shred Day on May 19 at its main bank location. Additionally, the bank collected free will donations for the Lincoln County Law Enforcement Memorial and matched funds raised to the first $500. The grand total raised, including the matching funds, was $3,017.

Phyllis Pittack (age 85) | Tilden, passed away on May 21. She worked at both Tilden Bank, now Cornerstone Bank) and Johnson's Market in Tilden for many years.

Arlen Osterbuhr, Minden Exchange Bank & Trust Co. | Minden, was named an honorary member of Beta Gamma Sigma at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The organization is an international honor society for collegiate schools of business. He is the CEO of the bank. (pictured)

Arline Lurz (age 83) | Beemer, passed away on May 11. In 1973 she began her 42-year banking career at First Community Bank in Beemer and worked there until her retirement in 2015. (pictured)

Ruth Mundt (age 94) | Crete, passed away on May 8. She had previously worked at Nebraska Security Bank, now Midwest Bank, in Deshler, where she reached the position of assistant cashier.

Alicia Kucera, Home Federal Bank | Superior, was recently named to the Superior Chamber of Commerce's board of directors. She is the branch manager.

sponsored meals and snacks throughout the day for volunteers who participated in the Downtown Clean Up in North Platte on May 9.

First National Bank of Omaha and Hershey State Bank | North Platte, helped sponsor the North Platte Area Habitat for Humanity's 25th anniversary reception on May 9.

Nebraska Bank | all branches, recently awarded nine $1,000 scholarships to 2023 high school graduates who have expressed interest in pursuing a banking, business or ag-related degree. As of April 2023, the bank has awarded $43,000 in scholarships to high school seniors across Nebraska.

Sandy Brown, State Nebraska Bank & Trust | Wayne, recently received the inaugural Community Service Engagement Award from Wayne State College. The award honors a Wayne-area community member who is "civic-minded and exemplifies outstanding service on campus and in the community." She is the marketing director at the bank.
