Grant Badertscher, State Bank of Table Rock | Roca, celebrated 10 years with the bank this month. He is the chief financial officer.

Adam Boryca, Homestead Bank, Tim Sladek, Waypoint Bank, and Bill Wilkinson, Security First Bank | all of Cozad, were named to the 2025 board of directors for the Cozad Development Corporation. Additionally, Boryca will serve as the secretary/treasurer for the board.

Nicole DeWispelare, Bank of the Valley; Josh Harms, FNBO; Matt Troshynski, Columbus Bank & Trust Co.; and Doris Wemhoff, Great Plains State Bank | all of Columbus, graduated from Class 33 of Leadership Columbus. The program is designed to give participants a deep dive into the systems, strengths and challenges of the Columbus area.

Banks in the News

FNBO | all branches, donated $12,000 to support the Nebraska FFA Launch! Program, which focuses on entrepreneurship-based education for FFA members and agricultural education students across the state.

FNBO, First State Bank Nebraska and Security First Bank | Beatrice, and other local businesses helped sponsor the Weston Event, a fundraiser for the Beatrice Humane Society. The event raised $30,000 that will go directly toward saving animals.

Platte Valley Bank | Alliance, Gering and Scottsbluff, provided four $500 cash prizes to individuals who donated to the United Way of Western Nebraska’s Raffle for Cash campaign.

Riverstone Bank | Scottsbluff, and other local organizations helped sponsor the VISIONARIES Student Art Show at the West Nebraska Arts Center, with the artwork on display until April 27.

Deaths

Russell Eisenhart (age 100) | Culbertson, passed away on March 11. He had previously worked at the Culbertson Bank for over 20 years before retiring in 1990. He continued to serve as chairman of the board until 2013. Additionally, he was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II.

Loretta Fish (age 61) | Cody, passed away on March 30. Her 35-year banking career spanned positions at the Abbott Bank, Community First Bank and Security First Bank.

Theresa Miller (age 83) | Homer, passed away on March 31. She spent her entire 45-year career working at First Community Bank in Homer before retiring in 2018.
