Tara Buell-Korth, Elkhorn Valley Bank & Trust | Norfolk, celebrated her 10th anniversary with the bank. She is a senior vice president, lending.

Jeff Johnson, Columbus Bank & Trust Co. | Columbus, received the Archway Award from the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce during a banquet on April 28. He is the chairman and CEO of the bank.

Bryce Lammers, Security Bank | Hartington, celebrated five years with the bank. He is a loan officer.

Bill Schomers and Karen Way, FNBO | Omaha, received the Leadership in Action Volunteer of the Year award from the United Way of the Midlands at an awards luncheon last month. Bill is a vice president - credit, collections, fraud prevention, recoveries and banking operations. Karen is a senior risk analyst.

Banks in the News

First Interstate Bank | Scottsbluff, donated $25,000 to Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska as part of the bank’s “Believe in Local” program. Funds from this donation will be used to provide quality services and learning opportunities to improve and nurture the health and well-being of western Nebraska communities.

First State Bank Nebraska | multiple branches, assisted other community members with an Earth Day cleanup at the Wilber Lake and Arboretum last month.

NebraskaLand Bank | North Platte, provided a $500 prize to the winning artist of the Sculpture Walk Around Nebraska (SWAN) exhibition contest in collaboration with the Prairie Arts Center.

State Nebraska Bank & Trust | Wayne, awarded scholarships totaling over $15,000 to five seniors from Wayne High School.

Dave Maggart, Elkhorn Valley Bank & Trust | Norfolk, retired after 29 years with the bank. He was a vice president, lending.

Rod Rowland, F&M Bank | Falls City, will retire, effective May 30. He is the president of the bank and has served the banking industry for 44 years.
