This course is offered as a continuing education curriculum for the financial services industry. Law & Banking:
Applications is instructor-guided, will include measurements of learning, and has been designed to increase job skills and
enhance knowledge. Completion of this course can lead to industry-recognized AIB diplomas and certificates and may
support professional certification and license requirements.

AUDIENCE: Personnel who are new to banking or require a refresher course on the legal basis for many banking services and
transactions.

This AIB course reflects the ways that banks do business and how they are affected by laws and regulations — in plain English for the
non-lawyer. It is devoted to the basic laws and banking regulations that govern deposit accounts, lending, real estate lending,
bankruptcy, non-deposit products and services, international banking, marketing, safety and soundness, and information reporting.

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

• Discuss laws and regulations pertaining to deposit account relationships
• Discuss bankruptcy law provisions that cover liquidation, rehabilitation, and relief
• Identify major laws and regulations governing marketing, trust, securities, insurance, and international banking activities
• Describe provisions of laws and regulations that protect bank operations
• Explain provisions of laws and regulations to safeguard customer information and the nation
